# Issues upgrading rider plugin to support 2025

I hope this is the correct forum for this. I have been trying to update my plugin to support 2025.1 EAP for some time now. The current attempt is here [GitHub - jeppevammenkristensen/rider-mvvm-plugin at task/support-2025](https://github.com/jeppevammenkristensen/rider-mvvm-plugin/tree/task/support-2025)

When I run `Rider(Windows)` it will try to build and fail with this information

My build script skills are not great and I haven’t been so fortunate to find a solution on how to make it work. I have tried searching how other plugins achieve it. I hope one of you can point me in the correct direction.

Ok. I don’t know what law this is. I have struggled with this issue for a week. Decide to post here.

5 minutes later I try a thing. And of cause that thing seems to fix the problem. 🙂

The solution was to do the following:

Instead of  
` rider(ProductVersion)` on line 148

I do  
` rider(ProductVersion, useInstaller=false)`

This was also hinted at in the error message. But as I also stated my gradle skills are not impressive.
