# No more welcome screen?

Hi

Just updated to the last 2026.3 EAP (IU-263.5153.40) - and saw that there is no more the welcome screen when starting the IJ. Instead, I see the IJ is opening the IJ on “IntelliJ IDEA HOME” - wanted to know if this change is going to be permanent and I should switch all my UI test or this is an EAP thing and the welcome page will come back in a future EAP.

Hi, yes, this is an intentional change. We have started testing it in EAP and plan to release it in 2026.3.  
If you need some time to adapt your tests, you can temporarily switch back to the modal Welcome Screen by adding the following JVM option to the test startup: `-Didea.welcome.screen.non.modal.enabled=false`.

However, we are going to drop modal Welcome Screen in one of the next major releases, so please be ready to adapt your UI tests for the new implementation.
