# \[Showcase\] IconFontViewer: see iconfont glyphs next to Android string references

Hi everyone,

I wrote an Android Studio plugin called IconFontViewer. It shows iconfont glyphs next to `R.string` references, so I don’t have to look up the font just to check which icon a piece of code is using.

Clicking a gutter icon opens a searchable picker. Choose another icon and it replaces the reference at that position. Kotlin, Java, layout XML and `strings.xml` are supported.

It finds fonts in your project and library dependencies, including AARs, JARs and nested archives. Fonts don’t need to be in a folder named `fonts`. Under Tools → IconFontViewer, you can check which fonts were found, enable or disable them, add a TTF file manually, or rescan the project.

It’s free and open source (Apache 2.0), for Android Studio 2024.1 or newer. TTF fonts only for now.
