Air ADE support?

I’m just curious, does JetBrains have plans to support 3rd-party plugins in the new Air “ADE”? Is it based on the IJ platform?
Thx

I raised a ticket to ask Air SDK 4 month ago: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/AIR-3203/Inquiry-regarding-plugin-migration-Rainbow-Brackets-from-Fleet-to-the-new-Air-IDE

Air is not based on IntelliJ Platform.

Plugin support is not available at the moment, however it is planned without current ETA.

If you have any plans or ideas, please share them so they can be relayed to the Air team.

Actually, I don’t really understand what an ADE is. I mean, with an ADE, are we supposed to rely solely on AI agents? Can’t we modify or correct things manually from time to time? I think that if it’s not 100% autonomous or 100% effective, then third-party plugins will inevitably be necessary to help developers, just like in an IDE. That’s why I can’t reveal any specific projects or ideas, because to me, an ADE is an IDE with a mustache :face_savoring_food:, and it incorporates a lot of AI. So I’d say you could develop plugins for just about anything. But if it’s as closed-off as Fleet, I don’t see a bright future for it.
BTW, I may have a better understanding of what is Air once it’s available on Windows or Linux. I don’t have access to a Mac.

@jonathanlermitage.1 thank you for such a feedback! Personally, I don’t have sufficient knowledge of Air, so I cannot comment in details. However, it is appreciated. There will be more information in the upcoming future.
