Hello there,
I just was about to upload my new plugin to the JetBrains Marketplace. As suggested I wanted to create an organisation(because my plugin will be a paid plugin in the future).
The form seems to require a website. I however don’t have a website yet.
What is the best way to go forward? I did already buy a domain, but it will not be reachable yet. Is it sufficient to add the URL of the domain, even though it will not be reachable?
Or is it better to upload the plugin for now with a personal account and change it to an organisation later on?
Thanks a lot and kind regards,
Samuel
Ok I think I solved it.
I read the documentation again and found out that I can an add an organisation later on also - so I did upload the plugin for now with as “individual trader”.
Are there any disadvantages in adding the organisation later as mentioned here in the documentation?
If you have already uploaded a plugin you can still create an organization. To create it click the Add Organization button under Organizations on your profile page
Thank you,
Samuel
Hello Samuel,
Yes, the website link is a mandatory field, but individuals can use their GitHub or LinkedIn pages instead. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a personal, official website.
However, I think it’s absolutely fine that you’ve created an individual page after all. We are currently in the process of updating the logic of Vendor pages since they are a bit confusing in their current state. This also means the documentation is slightly outdated, but I will work on revising it once we finish improving the workflow.
In the meantime, please proceed as follows:
- Complete the trader details for your individual Vendor page (this includes providing identity documents and banking information).
- Prepare your plugin by adding paid parameters and implementing a license check.
- Upload the plugin under your personal Vendor page.
- Once you’ve uploaded it, we’ll automatically be notified. We’ll review your submission and let you know further instructions (if anything will be needed from your side).
Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

Sounds good - I will prepare that in the meanwhile to have a smooth transition once the plugin will be converted to a paid plugin.
Thanks a lot for the great support!!
