'Import Module from Existing Sources' action is running indefinitely and does not complete

Hi Team,

I noticed an issue while testing the “Import Module from Existing Sources” action in IntelliJ IDEA 2026.2.2 and 2026.2.3. and wanted to check whether this is a known issue or if anyone else has observed the same behaviour.

After opening a project, a toast notification may appear in the bottom-right corner asking whether to load the project as Maven or Gradle. Without taking any action on that notification, I open Search Everywhere, run “Import Module from Existing Sources”, select the pom.xml file, and click OK. The “Reading Maven Projects…” window appears and the Maven project seems to be imported successfully. However, the “Reading Maven Projects…” window never closes and continues running indefinitely.

I have observed this issue on both macOS and Linux

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there any known resolution, workaround?
