Plugin Verifier hanging indefinitely - started July 23rd

The Plugin Verifier has started hanging indefinitely on the first verification in our results, beginning approximately yesterday (July 23rd). Prior to this, all verifications completed within 10 minutes.

Current behavior:

  • First verification (IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate 2025.1.3 with IDE verifier) hangs for 12+ hours with spinning indicator
  • Subsequent verifications (using verifier 1.388) complete normally with expected warnings
  • Issue is consistent and reproducible. I re-uploaded and the same issue occurs.
  • We couldn’t reproduce this locally with the plugin verifier.

Previous behavior:

  • All verifications completed within 10 minutes
  • No hanging or timeout issues

Environment:

  • Plugin Verifier version: 1.388 (for completed verifications)
  • IDE versions being verified: IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate 2025.1.3, 2024.3.6, 2024.2.6, 2024.1.7
  • No significant dependency changes made to our plugin

Additional context: The hanging specifically affects the first verification entry (showing “IDE” as verifier), while subsequent entries using verifier 1.388 complete successfully. We have not made any significant changes to our plugin dependencies that would explain this sudden change in behavior.

@yann.cebron I don’t know if you’re the right person to ping but I see that you’re very active in this community, who’s the right person to ping regarding this? This is a P0 for us since we have some major client-side fixes but it’s currently impossible for us to deploy for our users because this build system is hanging. Thanks!

I have the same problem. I submitted two plugin updates, but the “IDE” verifier is blocked for both plugins.

Just one thing. I may be wrong, but I think the “IDE” verifier is very specific. It seems to be related to paid plugins. I say that because my previous releases were published with success, but this “IDE” verifier always failed, saying it doesn’t support paid plugins yet:

Now, it’s blocked. I guess JetBrains updated their verifier?

So, if it’s not verified within two business days, I will simply email the marketplace team (marketplace@jetbrains.com). They used to react quickly :wink:

They said it’s fixed. We’re redeploying to check.

Looks like it’s still not fixed. I got an email saying it’s approved but then it’s still spinning on the admin dashboard.

Looks like verification is still broken for the IDE check. Any suggestions on how to get round it?
