I’d like to receive an email for every message and comment that’s posted to the forum, which the old forum allowed. This lets me keep up to date without having to leave my email client, which I like a lot. Is it possible to enable this? Currently I can only receive summaries.

This feature is a double opt-in in Discourse and I just enabled that in the service settings.
From now on, you can go to your profile Preferences > Emails, and Enable mailing list mode with two options available:
- Send me an email for every new post (about 2 per day)
- Send an email for every new post except my own
