I noticed the notification in the screenshot below. What’s the general best practice around excluding folders from Microsoft Defender? When does it make sense to add exclusions, and when is it better not to?

actually, even Microsoft offers a convenient way to exclude dev stuff from real-time protection (dev drives).
So, if you trust your projects, you can exclude them. Same thing for your IDE.
Is it better, I can’t say. The risk is still there.
