[Showcase] IconFontViewer: see iconfont glyphs next to Android string references

Hi everyone,

I wrote an Android Studio plugin called IconFontViewer. It shows iconfont glyphs next to R.string references, so I don’t have to look up the font just to check which icon a piece of code is using.

Clicking a gutter icon opens a searchable picker. Choose another icon and it replaces the reference at that position. Kotlin, Java, layout XML and strings.xml are supported.

It finds fonts in your project and library dependencies, including AARs, JARs and nested archives. Fonts don’t need to be in a folder named fonts. Under Tools → IconFontViewer, you can check which fonts were found, enable or disable them, add a TTF file manually, or rescan the project.

It’s free and open source (Apache 2.0), for Android Studio 2024.1 or newer. TTF fonts only for now.

If you use icon fonts in Android projects, I’d be interested to hear how it works with your fonts.
